Consumer Disputes Clinic provides students with an understanding of the process of resolving consumer disputes through theoretical and hands-on training on the various subjects. The clinic, focusing on the actual and mock cases of consumer disputes which are relatively easy to encounter in everyday life or media reports, covers such topics as how the legal disputes proceed and resolve, what limitations of the existing civil litigation procedures in the process of consumer disputes, what are the alternative dispute resolution procedures to supplement the limitations, what is the actual process of the alternative dispute resolution procedures of consumer disputes, and what can be reviewed in the perspective of institutional improvement for rational dispute resolution between consumers and companies, etc.
Hyun Jong Lee
Clinical Professor Lee graduated from Seoul National University Law School and completed judicial training centers. He served as a judge at various levels of court from 1997 to 2011. He was mainly responsible for litigation cases and dispute resolution matters as a litigation attorney for nine years. As an adjunct professor at the law schools, he taught legal documents preparation, civil cases practice, and civil procedure. Since 2020, he has been in charge of clinical law classes at the Public Interest & Legal Clinic Center.
