Legal Consultation Request

 
  • The SNUPLC provides on-campus legal consultation services for current members of the Seoul National University (SNU) community.
    – Legal consultations are available only to individuals who are currently affiliated with SNU. (Those who have graduated, retired, or are otherwise no longer affiliated are not eligible.) Consultations are not available for matters involving family members or third parties who are not themselves members of the university.
    – We do not provide legal consultations regarding disputes between SNU community members, disputes between the university and its members, matters under the jurisdiction of the SNU Human Rights Center, or issues related to the administrative functions of specific colleges or departments within SNU.

    – Legal consultations may also be declined if the matter does not align with the Center’s educational or public interest mission.
  • Requests are reviewed in the order received. Consultations may be conducted by SNU Law students under the supervision of licensed attorneys.
  • After your request is submitted, basic information regarding the consultation process will be sent to you via email.

How to Request Legal Consultation

If you have difficulty reading Korean, please send an email to slcc@snu.ac.kr including the information listed below and the statement:
“I consent to the collection and use of my personal information.”

Consent to the Collection and Use of Personal Information for Legal Consultation(SNUPLC)

1. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
The SNU Law Public Interest Law Center (“the Center”) collects and uses personal information for the following purpose. Collected information will not be used for purposes other than those stated below. If the purpose of use changes, separate consent will be obtained in advance.
· Provision of legal consultation

2. Items of Personal Information Collected
The Center collects the following personal information for the purpose of providing legal consultation:
· Required items: Name, Email, Affiliation/Status, Contact Information

3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
Collected personal information will be retained and used for the period specified below. If the data subject withdraws their consent, the information will be destroyed without delay. However, if retention is required by university regulations or applicable laws, such retention will be in accordance with those provisions.
· Retention period: 3 years

4. Right to Refuse Consent and Consequences of Refusal
You have the right to refuse consent to the collection and use of your personal information. However, please note that refusal to consent may result in the inability to receive legal consultation from the Center.
